About Wizbones PC,

I had always dreamed of opening my own shop, and one day decided to give it a go. September 12th 2001 Wizbones PC opened it's doors to serve the Willamette Valley with all their computing and Internet needs.

I, Wizbones (AKA Nick Schmit) originally from Sherwood, Oregon, own and operate Wizbones PC. Why Wizbones your thinking to yourself. Well the short story is I like wizards and dragons, that's the wiz part. When I joined the service (U.S. Army) I weighed in at a whopping 116 lbs. They called me bones. Original right? So I did some scientific research on how to put two words together to make one, it was easy and I came up with Wizbones. Been using the name ever since.

My experience in the IT industry started back in 1996 where I worked for an outsource company in Beaverton, Oregon, providing phone support for various contracts over 2 and a half years. I then relocated to Sublimity in late 1998 where I worked for a headhunter company supporting various contracts all over, which finally ending up at Willamette Valley Internet where I provided tech support for just over 3 years, meeting most of my current clientele actually. You know who you are :-)

Where did I learn what I know? Well it started in the military where I bought my first PC, a glorified typewriter. And it just blossemed from there. I am actually a high school drop out and most all of what I've learned regarding the IT industry was learned in the hard school of knocks, self taught, trial and error. Once I got my foot in the door and made this my career (that's a whole 'nother story), I did get training in the various areas that I was required to support. So self learning, some schooling and in general repetition through on-the-job training, I am constantly learning new things as this is an ever evolving industry.

Wizbones PC has been open for over 5 years now serving the Willamette Valley with PC Repair, Domain Hosting, Web Design, Networking, Anti-virus Solutions, Ecommerce solutions and much more. I'll try just about anything once, and several times if I like it.

Now I'll be the first to tell you that I for one, do not know it all. I have much experience and the know how to find the answers to most issues. But there are things that are above my head and I will be the first to admit when I'm in too deep. What this means for you is honesty, friendliness and just plain down to earth understanding. I talk to you with respect and in a language you can understand. I like to keep things simple as they should be. If you ever meet a tech that says he can do it all or knows it all, run in the other direction.

I'd say the majority of the people I've worked for are satisfied. You know how that old saying, you can satisfy some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time? Well yes, I have ticked a few off here and there. This is the honesty part I mentioned above. And I'm sure there will be others in the future as well. So I'm not perfect, but rest assured I will do my very best to make sure you're on the good list as apposed the bad list. I'll take care of your computer as if it were my own and look out for you by keeping up with the latest technologies available to keep you up to date.

Anyhow, I'm here for you if you need me. Stop by and say hello if we haven't met yet. I've been called many things in my time, colorful and enteraining are just a couple. Will let you be the judge when you come by. Oh and I'll fix your computers woes and with any luck remove your frustrations / fears / and sometimes hatred of your computer. Look forward to meeting you and those that know me already, keep passing the word, I appreciate your support very much.
